2015 GRANTS AWARDED

Record levels of contributions to Great Expectations meant even bigger impact for local organizations that change the lives of youth in countless ways! Hats off to these great recipients:

Fred Pearson Foundation - Centralia Youth Initiative / Centralia, IL ($5075 grant) - energy and commitment make a difference in the lives of Centralia Youth through education and sports. 

Poshard Foundation for Abused Children / Carterville, IL ($5005 grant) - support comes in many forms through this amazing organization.

2014 Grants Awarded

Great Expectations Foundation was pleased to present over $44,000 in grants in 2014! Here is a summary of the great work being done in our communities to change the lives of youth -

The Hal Hempen Foundation / Philadelphia, TN ($4735 awarded) - provides recreational and life enhancing opportunities for disabled or chronically ill youth.

Cedarhurst Center for the Arts / Mt. Vernon, IL ($1500 awarded) - funds were used to upgrade the Beck Family Center and its programs.  Admission is free and open to the public in this hands-on environment providing endless opportunities for young visitors to experience the textures, color, and excitement of discovering art in the world around them.

2013 GRANTS AWARDED

Great Expectations Foundation was happy to hear back from several 2013 grant recipients about the difference these funds make in the lives of children. Several grant recipients were referred to Great Expectations by Rent One* employees who support these organizations with their time, talent and treasure:

• Imagination Library / Mt. Vernon, IL / $2000 to advance early childhood literacy.
• Jefferson Co Historical Village / Mt. Vernon, IL / $1750 toward transportation of children to Historical Village, bringing local heritage to life.

Greene County, AR Tech Elementary School Students and their PE Teacher, Gia Taylor are shown completing one of the Fitnessgram Assessments. 

Through the efforts of The Great Expectations Foundation and Rent One employees, the FITNESSGRAM Program has been donated to over 25 School Districts. FITNESSGRAM was developed by The Cooper Institute, Dallas, TX in an effort to provide physical educators with a tool to facilitate communicating fitness testing results to students and to parents. It includes information, goal setting, progress reports, tracking software, and more.
